Administrative Announcement

The description for FAS subaccount 4200 has changed. Formerly referred to as "Telephones/Telegraphs/Telex," subaccount 4200 is now "Communications Services."  The former name was both confusing and insufficient for the diversity of today's technology. The new name more accurately reflects the wide variety of communication options now available.

Communications Services includes basic voice services such as call waiting, caller ID, call forwarding, three-way calling, call transfers, 911 emergency service, trouble tickets, and telephone repair. In addition, the name encompasses the data network, which enables the University community to send email, access the web, and use many other network-based services.
