JOB CODES
The 4-digits Job Codes used in AIS have been lengthened to 6-digits for use in the Payroll/Personnel System. The additional two digits in general indicate something further about the particular level of the job, its special characteristics, or the type of person that holds it. Formerly these digits were added by the feed from AIS to P/P on the basis of the emeritus and visitor flags on the person, and the tenure and quarter values on the job.
The Table below summarizes the current system of assigning these two extra values for jobs in the Academic range (the 9000's).

As is clear from the restrictions, all of the 2-digits extensions to the Job Codes do not apply to every different kind of job. Here are the groupings of jobs and the values that are possible within each grouping. This is, in part, based on current practice; thus it is subject to change and revision.
