SUBJECT: Minimum Wage Increase
DATE: June 23, 2009

Dear Colleagues,

Effective July 1, 2009, the state's minimum wage increases to $8.00 per hour according to legislation signed into law by the previous Illinois Governor Rod R. Blagojevich on December 18, 2006. Currently, the state's minimum hourly rate is $7.75.

HR will identify and notify departments of employees whose wages fall below the new state minimum. Wages of affected employees will be adjusted in accordance with the new law effective with the pay period beginning June 28th, 2009.
